SPC have supplied specialist radiant heating panels for a college which is rated as one of the finest learning establishments in central Derbyshire.
With student comfort of the highest priority, SPC supplied its ThermaTile Plus radiant ceiling panels for the work at Heanor Gate Science College.
The panels comprise a special corrugated aluminium panel of patented design and a continuous copper tube fixed in a serpentine arrangement on the upper surface. Low pressure hot water feeds through the circuit and transfers heat to the lower emission surface for comfort heating via radiant transmission.
Insulation on the back of the panels prevents any heat escaping into the ceiling void.
The panels are not restricted to standard ceiling grid sizes, indeed they can be round or triangular, and can be shaped and suspended to suit individual requirements. The circuitry of the heating medium is designed to optimise space and performance.
ACVR Services Ltd, of Rothley, Leicestershire, fitted the panels in classrooms, corridors and toilets as part of a refurbishment project in the school’s science block.
Rob Bowyer, managing director of ACVR Services Limited, said: “The panels are a quality product, they were delivered on time and everyone was delighted with the end result.
“The panels do exactly what it says on the box, and we enjoyed working with SPC.”
Heanor Gate is a specialist science college, which became an academy in November 2011. It has been designated a High Performing Specialist School and the lead school in its area for the Diploma in IT.
On its website it states that it will provide a comfortable and pleasant environment for its students. The SPC panels will play their part in creating and sustaining that environment.
