SPC have supplied Thermatile Plus radiant heating panels for a new medical centre that offers state of the art facilities for patients.
The panels were installed at Queensway Medical Centre, which was built on the site of an old public house in Olympic Way, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
SPC were asked to supply Thermatile Plus panels because they are recognised as the quickest way to bring a room up to temperature, provide constant, comfortable heat, and are very efficient and cost effective. They are also versatile, capable of being designed and configured to fit all room shapes and sizes.
Once in place they are unobtrusive and provide years of trouble-free heating.
A spokesman for SPC, based in Leicester, said: “Our panels will keep patients and staff comfortably warm for many years. They require little maintenance and help to reduce running costs.”
The medical centre, designed by architects Maber, is a two storey building that includes a large GP practice and pharmacy, two minor illness rooms, treatment rooms, a minor operations room, welfare facilities and offices.
SPC worked on the project with Curtins Consulting, of The Ropewalk, Nottingham, and contractor Highcross Building Services.
Roger Smith, mechanical projects manager at Highcross, who are based in South Wigston, near Leicester, said: “We enjoy working with SPC. Their panels have a good quality finish, are easy to install and are very efficient.

Thermatile Plus Panels easily fit into a standard ceiling grid; they can also be fitted into plasterboard ceilings, angled on a wall, or suspended.
At the heart of them is a patented composite aluminium sheet, which is strong yet light and has excellent thermal conductivity properties, offering maximum efficiency, whether for heating or cooling.
The lower surface of the panels is smooth, which as well as improving the appearance of the panel makes them easy to clean and, therefore, ideal for healthcare applications. A layer of high performance insulation across the whole of the upper surface means that very little heat is lost into the void.
