SPC, a British manufacturer of heating and cooling coils, fan convectors, trench heaters, radiant panels and heat pipes, has supplied Stainless Steel trench heaters to a new office development in Weston Street, London SE1.
Designed by Stirling Prize winners AHMM Architects, the office is part of a mixed-use development that also includes a number of upmarket apartments.
The stainless steel trench heaters were specified on the project to aide with the aesthetic look, perfectly complementing the “brutalist” architectural design created by AHMM Architects.
Jeremy Davies, Sales Director of SPC said
“Typically trench heating is used where there are large areas of glass to reduce glazing losses. However on this particular project, the trench has been used as supplementary heating”.
Like the iconic Shard, 81-87 Weston Street has a minimalist, modern aesthetic, while the bricks reference the surrounding historic warehouses.
This area of London has seen much new development in the last 10 yrs. The area is home to the popular Borough Market and Tate Modern, which is located just a short walk from Weston Street.
